INVITATION: Artist David Craig Ellis Book Launch Event
Brooklyn-based artist David Craig Ellis launches the third installment of his popular book series Doing Lines with David Craig Ellis. This upcoming Thursday, he invites you to celebrate Doing Lines with David Craig Ellis Volume 3 with a book launch party during DUMBO 1st Thursday Gallery Walk. The event will take place at his studio at 68 Jay Street.
Ellis is a true legend in every sense of the word with a vivid past that shapes his art today.
Volume 3 of the series continues with a collection of drawings that span his life from middle school until the present day. Ellis says he hopes others will recognize something and feel included through his work. "Everyone I've ever met, everywhere I've been and everything I've ever done is incorporated into these sketches, whether I'm cognizant of it or not."
This latest installment is dedicated to renowned artist Rick Prol, someone Ellis credits with inspiring his own work.
"He was one of the New York artists who in a way taught me the freedom to add something out of the ordinary with impunity that may or may not make sense to others." Ellis is one interesting artist you'll want to meet in person to truly get his work. Be our guest on September 5 and join us on September 5, 6-9pm at 68 Jay Street in DUMBO.
